Five Student Scholarships will be annually offered

Zhang lixia,Municipal Standing Committee and Minister of United Front line,recently paid a visit to Malaysia,and signed a memorandum of cooperation with Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman on behalf of Meizhou.You Fangda,the vice chancellor of the University,"Tan Sri"Qiu Sidong,the College Board consultant,Tan Sri Lee Oi Hian,UTAR Education Foundation Board of Trustees Member,and the head of Meizhou Returned Overseas Chinese Association,etc,attended the signing ceremony.Agreed by both parties,UTAR will annually offer five Scholarships for outstanding students in Meizhou City,recruiting high school graduates.

Zhang lixia said Malaysia have numerous Hakka people,Meizhou and UTAR got profound cooperative foundation,the two sides were expected to give full play to their respective advantages,actively explore the new model of higher education and focus on building high level talent training platform.She also wished the Meizhou students attending in UTAR to study hard and grow into the pillars of society,contribute to the revitalizing development of Meizhou.

You Fangda welcomed the delegates of Meizhou,and briefly introduced the basic information of UTAR.He said that Hakka people have indomitable spirit,he believe Meizhou students will bring vitality to UTAR,and hoped that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in academic research in the future and jointly promote the development of Hakka culture.
