The annual meeting of Museum alliance of Hakka culture was inaugurated

Yesterday, the 2016 Hakka Cultural Museum alliance annual meeting and the forum with the theme of "Hakka culture museums and cultural landscape" was inaugurated. More than 40 members of the alliance from 11 provinces attended the conference. Long Jiayou, director of Provincial Bureau for Preservation of Cultural Relics , Zhang lixia, Standing Committee member of CPC and Minister of the United Front attended the opening event. 

It was understood that the Union of Hakka culture Museum was co-sponsored by Guangdong Museum, Henan Museum, Fujian Museum and Taipei history Museum, having over 40 members. This was the third annual meeting since the Union was founded. 

Long Jiayou pointed out that the Union of Hakka culture Museum was founded to promote the exchanges and cooperation between Hakka culture Museums, to improve the public cultural services and influence of the Museum. The annual meeting will keep pace with times, conform with current museum development theme, explore from many aspects, help to strengthen the exchanges and cooperation between the Museums of Hakka culture, which is of great significance to make research, display, and disseminate Hakka culture. 

Zhang Lixia said Meizhou is the main Habitat and distribution centre of Hakka people, which ranked first on the Hakka population, concentration and "triplets” - compatriots in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan, and Hakka cultural diversity. Holding the annual meeting of Hakka Cultural Museum Alliance in our city will definitely inject new vitality into the work on the inheritance and development of Hakka culture. 

After the opening ceremony, the participants presented keynote addresses and carried panel discussions around the theme of "Hakka culture museums and cultural landscape". Today, participants will also hold on-site learning sessions.
