Li Jianying led a delegation to visit Britain, France and Germany

Strengthen friendship and promote exchanges and cooperation

From 16th to 25th, Li Jinyuan, Chairman of the municipal Committee of the Meizhou CPPCC, led a delegation of overseas Chinese Affairs to United Kingdom, France, and Germany for investigation. They had an interview with Hakka communities, paid an official call on Meizhou sages and community leaders, informed the overseas Chinese nostalgia, introduced the investment environment of Meizhou, and promoted trade and cultural exchanges and cooperation. The principal leading comrades of Meizhou Federation of Returned Overseas Chinese, Foreign Affairs Bureau, Wuhua Foreign and Overseas Chinese Affairs Bureau participated in the visit. 

During the visit, the delegation leaded by Li Jinyuan called upon Ye Modi, Chairman of the British Conservative Party and president of Chinese Chamber of Commerce ,Luo Shichuan, President of France Tsung Tsin Association, Chen Guoying, President of Germany Munich Guangdong Chamber of Commerce; visited overseas enterprises, investigated Cambridge University, Oxford University and the protection,exploitation and utilization of ancient building, paid a special visit to Meizhou-United Kingdom Economic and Cultural Liaison Office, and listened the debriefing of related work; respectively held three field symposia, informed the current situation of home town, and promoted the investment environment of Meizhou. 

At the symposium, Li Jinyuan conveyed the greetings of the Party Secretary Tan Juntie and Mayor Fang Lixu to the overseas Chinese, and delivered a speech with enthusiasm. He pointed out that the purpose of this visit is to call on overseas Chinese, inform the nostalgia, introduce the investment environment of Meizhou, so that more and more overseas Chinese understand Meizhou and invest in Meizhou. He noted that Meizhou is the hometown of Marshal Ye, the Capital of Hakka in the World, the Red Soviet area, the cultural district, site note of Sea Silk Route, hot land for investment, and well-known for peaceful and longevity. Meizhou has undergone enormous changes since the reform and opening up. At present, Meizhou is accelerating its development to build a well-off society, hoping overseas sages and entrepreneur actively involved in "the Belt and Road" initiative, pay more attention to support home town's economic and social development, often come back to track their roots, travel for leisure and investment, make suggestions, act as a go-Between, introduce projects and jointly promote to accelerate Meizhou's development. 

After listening to the briefing of the Meizhou-United Kingdom Economic and Cultural Liaison Office and Meizhou-France Economic and Cultural Liaison Office, Li Jinyuan hoped that the Liaison Office actively act in concert with the national "the Belt and Road" Initiative, play a greater role on strengthening trade cooperation and promoting cultural exchanges, and strive to build liaison offices into an new bridge of exchanges and cooperation between Meizhou and the two countries, Britain and France, and the homestead of overseas Hakka Chinese. 

Lu Haitian, counsellor of Chinese Embassy in the United Kingdom, Lv Chunju, the consul, and other guests made a speech with deep feeling, gave a warm welcome, and expressed their deep love for motherland and hometown. Tang Zhihong, Chairman of Germany Hyde International Limited, and other representatives of the business community took a keen interest in investing in Meizhou, they said they will return to Meizhou for investigation in a group in the near future, to discuss the project, and accelerate the development and revitalization of Meizhou. 

During this trip, they also conducted in-depth exchanges with three more overseas Chinese communities on how to carry out various forms of exchanges, lead new generation of overseas Chinese to support Meizhou, China, and fulfil the dream of China, they reached a consensus to strengthen exchanges and cooperation on overseas Chinese Affairs.
