CCTV program "Seek Hakka in Southern China" show cityscape of Meizhou

Recently, series of "Seek Hakka in Southern China" of "National Treasure Archive" column was broadcast on CCTV International Channel. From April 10th to 14th, the five episode provided a window to understand Meizhou for the global Chinese, especially for Hakka people at home and abroad.

 It is understood that the series of "Seek Hakka in Southern China" was shot mainly in Meizhou, with a total of five episodes, i.e. "Strangers from the Central Plains""Story of Dragon House""College"" Qiu Fengjia's Ambition" and "Oerseas huge donation of money", with 14 minutes per episode.  The program has introduced the origin of the Hakka folks, the wisdom of the Hakka Dragon House, changes of Dongshan College in the late Qing Dynasty, patriotic Qiu Fengjia's desire to defend against Japan, the story of overseas businessmen Zhang Rongxuan's caring about his hometown. Through the lens, China Hakka Museum, Songkou Quay, Dongshan College, Qiu Fengjia's former residence, Meijiang Bridge and other landmarks of Meizhou were presented in front of the audience one by one.

 Series of "Seek Hakka in Southern China" has attracted the attention of Hakka people at home and abroad.  Citizen Mr. Liu, impressed by the "Story of Dragon House", said that "Hakka dragon house embodies the power of the family, who live in harmony, help each other, so that their family clan multiply from generation to generation".  Peter, a descendant of Dabu county, settled in the western of Australia, heard from his domestic friends that the program was broadcast, he searched and watched related videos from the Internet.  "Although I settled in Western Australia, I often concerned about the events and news of hometown Meizhou". He believes that CCTV China International Channel is an important platform for overseas Chinese to understand domestic information, Series of "Seek Hakka in Southern China" played a great role in promoting hometown Meizhou.
