Miaoli County delegation seek roots and worship ancestors in Meizhou

 From 21th to 25th,Xu Yaochang, head of Miaoli county of the Taiwan region led the delegation of Miaoli government and the representatives of Taiwan's Xu clan, to seek roots and worship ancestors in Meizhou. Municipal Committee, Deputy Mayor Li Yuanqing, Municipal Committee and Minister of United Front Work and Party Committee Secretary of Meixian County Zhang Wenguang, on behalf of the municipal government, met with the visiting delegation and his entourage.

 During the visit, the delegation visited Cross-Straits Exchange Base Demonstration Points, such as China Hakka Museum, the former residence of Qiu Fengjia, the former residence of Xie Jinyuan and the Meizhou-Taiwan Cultural and Creative Industrial Park, and Hakka history and cultural scenic spots, such as Culture & Sports Center of Meixian District, Ren Houwen Ancestral Hall, observed the new rural construction of Shang He village and Jiuling village etc. in Jiaoling County.

 Li Yuanqing, Zhang Wenguang, on behalf of the municipal government, expressed a warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation. Li Yuanqing briefly introduced the economic and social development of Meizhou in recent years, affirmed the contribution made by Taiwan businessmen. He hopes that Meizhou Taiwan could further enhance the business and private exchanges, welcome Miaoli compatriots "often go home and have a look",strengthen the agricultural technology exchanges and cooperation in fine high-efficiency agriculture, leisure agri-tourism, realize advantage complementary advantages, and jointly promote cooperation between the two places to a new level.

 Xu Yaochang said, as the descendants of the Jiaoling county, "Do not forget ancestral words", so he led the Taiwan's Xu clan return to hometown to worship their ancestors, carefully attend to the funeral rites of parents and follow them when gone with due sacrifices, educate future generations. He hoped this trip can further build the platform of cooperation between the Meizhou and Miaoli.
