Guangdong Excellent Taiwanese Scholars Visited Meizhou

From November 20th to 21th, organized by Guangdong Provincial Association for the Promotion of Exchanges Across Taiwan Straits, the 4th "Guangdong Excellent Taiwanese Scholars Lingnan Tour" entered Meizhou and a camp-closing ceremony was held in Jiaying University. Nearly 90 people, including leaders of Guangdong Taiwan Affairs Office, outstanding Taiwan University Students in Guangdong, mainland student representatives and their teachers, took part in the camp closing ceremony and visited Meizhou.

With the theme of "The Entrepreneurial Dream of Young Scholars, The Chinese Sentiment between Guangdong and Taiwan",the students visited Zhongshan, Zhuhai, Heyuan, Meizhou and Taiwanese Pioneer Park, to feel the origin of the Hakka culture and cultivate the national identity and the affection of the compatriots. During the stay in Meizhou, the students visited Hakka Cultural Heritage such as Jiji Tower, Qiu Fengjia former residence, Sanzhen Baima village in Jiaoling county and other places, to appreciate the Hakka culture of our city and learn about the the struggle course of Hakka ancestors and the achievements of ecological civilization construction in our city.  

After visiting Jiji Building, I found that Hakka traditional dwellings are very distinctive, which let me know more about Hakka culture.Li Baixue, a Taiwanese student at School of Physics of Sun Yat-sen University, told reporters that he was impressed by the Hakka food most, the familiar taste reminded him of his grandmother in miaoli, Taiwan.Chen Hui-yu, a student from Taoyuan County studying at the College of International Exchange, Shenzhen University, said after the end of the trip that Meizhou's infrastructure has been well established and new rural construction has its own characteristics, we hoped that the two places could strengthen exchange of experiences and jointly promote urban development.
